
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 - January 19th 2007) was an American theatre, film television, and voice actress. 1 Pleshette started her career in the theatre and then began to appear in films towards the end of the 1950s. She then was featured in films of note like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), and Spirited Away (2001). She also appeared in numerous television productions, often in guest roles. She she was Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 until 1978, and received several Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City on January 31 of 1937. Her parents were Jewish, children of immigrants from Russia or Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer.
